Gate Valve Description
A Gate valve is usually used in fully open or fully closed services. It is an isolating valve installed in pipelines; it’s not a regulating valve. When a gate valve is fully open, there is no obstruction in the flow path, thus giving a very low-pressure loss. Due to a design of a multiturn stem, one open or close operation of the valve is done using a threaded stem, which prevents water hammer effects.
